Things change - plans change

My situation has changed somewhat and so have my thoughts on what happens in January. As you know if you have been reading my blog, my primary Felmina account cycles on January 8, 2013. At that point I've been thinking about taking a little out and letting the majority run to reach 250K ASAP. At that point, make some withdrawals and retire.

My thinking has changed a bit. Now Retirement is more important and reaching the magic 250K. Here's what I'm planning right now...

My projected balance on January 8th is $31,737. If I roll this over for another cycle and use basic compounding at 50% then I'll create an income of $4,602 in Jan. In Feb. I can come down to 40% and still capture $5,152. From Mar. on I'll take 30% as income. These numbers look like $5,326 in Mar., $7,197 in Apr., and $9,337 in May. Not bad income here in South Carolina.

My new 'freedom' date when I will reach $250K is somewhere around Sept. 26, 2013. At this point my income will be $4,250 per day.

So I push my freedom date back 4 months but retire in Feb. instead of Jun. Pretty good deal I think. Now if I can just hold out until Jan/Feb. 5 months is certainly better than 9 or 10. We'll see. The proof will be in the pudding as they say. Still I'm liking this.

Bonus: I still have four JustBeenPaid accounts and six other Felmina accounts. Whew! This is going to get interesting!
